Because parents are full of ****.

IQ is hereditary.
So I know my kids will be smarter then most other kids .

The same reason they think their children are more attractive, clever, creative athletic, well behaved than other children, they are parents.

I suppose because they only see the intelligence of their own child and just assume everyone else’s are thick.

parents just love to have pride in their children and they think theirs are special. i think my child is smart for his age! its not a competitive thing its more of a loving thing.

parents are around their kids more than other peoples. They don’t see all the unique and neat things other people’s kids can do too. They see how much their child is growing and learning and think only theirs does it that fast. All parents just want their child to be special anyway.

because parents always want their kids to be the best in everything. and what??

They are blinded by love.
And biased.

Because all kids are amazingly smart (nothing but instinct to talking paragraphs in less than a year), and we spend the most time with our own kids so we focus most on how amazingly smart they are.

Yahoo generally suggests that my parenting questions go under board games, which I try not to take personally.

All parents want to believe their kids are gifted. Some are, but I think some just think that because it’s what they want to see.

LOL, partly because we want them to be smarter and cuter and… It’s also because we know exactly how smart our kids are from being around them all the time, and we don’t know all the smart things other kids can do/say. And because we love them with in intense love we don’t have for other’s kids!

Well…I know most parents WANT their kids to be smarter than other kids, BUT I have no idea about the GLBT section….

Yep, I agree, blinded with love and biased. AND it’s not a bad thing either. To think your child is intelligent and have high expectations, letting them know you have faith in them that they can do whatever they set their minds to IS A LOT BETTER than thinking your child isn’t very smart and has limits to what they can achieve, because then your child will suffer low self esteem and will believe what mommy or daddy tells them and they will not spread their wings and reach for the stars.

So, even though lots of parent think their kid is smarter, I have to believe that it’s a good thing, not a bad thing.

No clue. My husband thinks his niece is really smart and I’m baffled. She’s six and you can still hardly understand her when she talks. He also thinks his two kids from a previous relationship are soo smart and I so want to ask him where they are hiding this?

I know mine are prettier….I don’t know about smarter♥

because as a parent you always think the highest of your kids and should never hear them or teach them to think less than the best.

Everyone in my family is smarter and more mature than most peeps their age and right now my son can do a lot more than almost all kids his age. And if u wanna know all he can do just ask lol, either here or by email and i’ll be glad to answer it, :D.

Because they don’t pay attention…they are stuck in their own little vortex…and think the world revolves….around them
