Wisdom is something that comes with age. Children are not supposed to be wise.
Those children who cannot handle responsibility were most likely absolved of it by their parents. It’s our job as parent to teach our children that actions have consequences and to take responsibility for those actions.
probably because of more exposure to life but less disciplinary techniques used at and at school too I should say as they have limits set by law.
They know about the bad stuff via tv, movies and music that is inappropriate for many young viewers. They are less mature and responsible because parents tend to hover- there’s actually a name for it- Helicopter Parents. Some parents are so anxious for their children to be sheltered, yet succeed, so they intervene in many instances where the child should proceed themselves, to learn common sense, via the school of hard knocks. It’s a hard line to walk- you want to protect your kids, build self esteem, but not baby them yet keep them safe at the same time.
people are stupid in general…
if they’re properly educated then they’ll be wiser
Children are required to memorize more information at an earlier age so it *seems* like they are smarter but self-thinking and creativity are no longer valued so when you ask a child or teen to think something out for themselves, to learn a skill and apply it to a completely different situation, to rationalize the right or wrongness of a situation they are lost and incapable.
i guess what I’m trying to say is that young children are fed a lot of information they are only required to regurgitate back in the same form it was fed to them. When they are teens, they do not have a basic reasoning skills they should have developed in childhood.
They tend to have more information and mature earlier phsyically, but they mature emotionally and mentally at the same old rate. An adolescent’s brain still doesn’t have the decision making skills of an adult until at least 19-22.
Education doesn’t equal morals. Something schools CAN’T teach, but parents can.
