genius children
Spring S asked:

I have been hearing a lot these days on baby genius, superkids etc. Any one with a personal experience with their child who got enrolled into programs for genius child such as aspire kidz, little gems etc. Are they really effective and is there value for money? Do these children really turn out to be too good with their academics ?

There is no guarantee that a child will perform well academically if he is enrolled in one of those programs. For example, if a child born with cognitive impairment were enrolled in Aspire Kidz, do you think that would turn him into a scholar? Of course it wouldn’t. Really, just work with your child at home. Provide a nurturing, enriching environment. I remember reading that books and blocks are the two most educational materials for a child. Playing with blocks can help improve a child’s math scores.
As for books, the benefits are countless. Read to your child every day, even if he is not old enough to really pay attention. Teach him through play instead of using rigid schedules and drills. Just make the process relaxed and enjoyable so that he will learn to love education. Good luck.
